As our dear leaders warn about surge upon surge of the coronavirus, wag their fingers at the unmasked, and lecture the unboosted, they're living like it's 2019 after five o'clock.
Less than a month after Finland's prime minister worried about the burden on hospitals, she was caught clubbing after being exposed to COVID. Although the PM is vaccinated, it should be common sense and common knowledge by now that vaccinated people can easily spread COVID. Their neighbors in Iceland figured this out back in August--"And it has come to light that vaccinated individuals can contract it relatively easily and spread infection. Sequencing has shown us that the origin of most domestic infections can be traced to group events such as clubbing in downtown ReykjavÃk or group trips abroad," said their Chief Epidemiologist Þórólfur Guðnason.
Here in the states, mask/vax fanatics Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden were caught with their masks down.Screen shot from "Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi Caught Flagrantly Breaking Biden's New Rules," The Rubin Report, 12/1/21 |

Now, I think the masks are useless and I don't wear one unless I have to. Most people where I live don't. But unlike Pelosi and Biden who promoted mask mandates, I don't tell other people to wear them. And the times I've been sick, or thought I might be contagious, I've stayed home.
Fortunately, there are leaders who are really trying to help. Of course, I'm talking about Dorothy Shephard, the Minister of Health for the Canadian province of New Brunswick. Despite an unlikely background in writing romantic novels and owning and operating a Benjamin Moore [paint] Colour Center, she seems clued in to excess weight as a COVID risk factor. She's therefore taken the bold step of allowing grocery stores to ban unvaccinated people from purchasing food in exchange for high store capacities. I've read elsewhere that so far, no retailer has availed itself of the new rule.
Meanwhile, the Senate passed the Congressional Review Act, initiated by Indiana's Mike Braun, to nullify the OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) vaccine mandate. It heads to the House.
