Fibromyalgia Suggestions?

Question for readers: Have any of you cured or treated fibromyalgia with diet, supplements, etc.? What worked? What didn't? This is not a rhetorical question--I have an idea for a fibromyalgia diet, and the research I've done so far is encouraging, but I'd like a reality check. A friend of mine is suffering terribly and I'd like to help her.

Thanks for the comment, smgj. I'll watch the video when I get home. I've read that hypothyroid is common among fibromyalgia sufferers; your comment gives me another idea.

I am type 11 diabetic, low thyroid and have fibromyalgic pains throat/neck/chest/aching arms along with stiff neck. High carb (ice cream cone, chocolate) bring on spasms where I can't breathe or move for about 20 minutes. Not binging on carbs helps. I take desiccated thyroid and other bioidentical hormones, but no medications for diabetes other than trying to avoid sugar and starch.

A while back, I wrote about saving money on break time coffee and snacks. I haven't done very well putting it into practice. A recent study from Spain finds "In comparison with people that did not eat yogurt, those who ate this dairy product regularly did not display any significant improvement in their score on the physical component of quality of life, and although there was a slight improvement mentally, this was not statistically significant," states López-García.
