Low Carb, Keto, Grain-Free Popcorn Substitute

On the theory that popcorn is just a vehicle for fat and salt that's lightly crunchy, I have a great substitute: chard chips. You can even eat them hot! They're full of vitamins and nutrients, too, and don't contain glyphosate (unlike corn). I like this recipe better than others I've tried because pre-drying the leaves makes them crispier and greatly reduces cooking time. Note that Swiss chard is high in oxalates if that's something you have to watch.  Photo from Pexels .  Recipe 1 batch Swiss chard, washed Nutritional yeast (available in the spice aisle) Avocado oil Salt Separate the Swiss chard leaves and hang them out to dry for a few hours until they're wilted.  Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Cut out the center vein and any other large veins in the leaves. Cut the leaves into sections about 3" to 4" square. Place them on a wire rack on a cookie sheet. Brush them on one side with avocado oil. Sprinkle with nutritional yeast and a little bit of s

Most Doctors are Quacks

Dad didn't like doctors. Long ago, Mom was in the hospital after abdominal surgery--for a mistaken diagnosis of appendicitis, if I remember right. She wasn't recovering from surgery, in fact, she was getting worse. When the hospital either couldn't or wouldn't do anything to help, Dad took her to another hospital, where they found her intestines had been put back in wrong. One of the nuns told Mom they almost lost her. At age 19 and with a 9th grade education, Dad had better judgment than the doctors at the first hospital. Doctors were mostly quacks then; doctors are mostly quacks now. That so many lined up for an experimental shot with an absolute risk reduction of symptomatic COVID of about 1% and a horrendous adverse events profile and then forced it on staff, patients and everyone else they could strong-arm should tell you all you need to know. The continued mask mandates at hospitals should remove all doubt.  The Cochrane Collaboration just published their findings

Are Soyboys Hypothyroid?

Commentator Paul Joseph Watson posted a video on his observation that a lot of left-wing activists share a distinct look, like this man (Paul Crowther), who allegedly threw a milkshake on politician Nigel Farage: Photo from Facebook. I'll stick with coconut milk. Almost everyone he pointed out was overweight and had a puffy face. In another video, he remarked how depressed his soyboy critics were. I'm no expert, but it looks and sounds like hypothyroid. Maybe someone should think about offering everyone seaweed snacks instead of statins. In fairness to them, the standard of care for thyroid treatment, especially in the UK, is so bad that patients have taken to ordering medications from Mexico and Thailand. What got me thinking about hypothyroid was being diagnosed with it. Having been startled by a high BG rating about a month ago, I really whacked back the carbs...and became so tired I barely wanted to move. My heart was going like a jack rabbit. Remembering what I sa
