I ...He was referring to preventing health problems. I don't know what the level should be--I could write what I know about iodine and thyroid on a postage stamp.

I agree with Cordain that it's possible to go overboard on vitamin supplements, But I don't agree with his assertion that on a paleo diet, most supplements aren't needed. Not true in my case, and the practitioners I'm familiar with recommend supplements. Between leaky guts, missing cofactors, antinutrients, medications, altered gut bacteria, low stomach acid, and farming practices that are the equivalent of strip mining, the nutrients that are there on paper don't necessarily find their way to the cells.Lori Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02612141535162268390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1844428295541303197.post-17854827020895648512012-06-09T01:09:43.710-04:002012-06-09T01:09:43.710-04:00:-) depends on, if you think the RDA for iodine i...:-) depends on, if you think the RDA for iodine is enough (which i don't). i use iodoral ... plus extra selenium to balance, of course.

i can imagine why fibrosis might contribute to thyroid problems, but how iodine could alleviate the former is a mystery to me....tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04254045589639201707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1844428295541303197.post-61620871555216705022012-06-08T18:20:19.427-04:002012-06-08T18:20:19.427-04:00When you consider that over 300 of the body's ...When you consider that over 300 of the body's enzymes require magnesium to work, it makes sense that enzyme supplements might help if Mg were deficient.

Someone also gave me a link to a video of a doctor saying he'd had success in treating FM patients with iodine. I don't know what the FM-iodine-thyroid connection is, if any, but Cordain says a paleo diet provides sufficient iodine.Lori Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02612141535162268390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1844428295541303197.post-66850853321288562972012-06-08T10:13:03.492-04:002012-06-08T10:13:03.492-04:00here are a couple of articles you may find interes...here are a couple of articles you may find interesting:

http://www.totalityofbeing.com/FramelessPages/Articles/FibroDepression.htm

http://www.totalityofbeing.com/FramelessPages/Articles/FibroRealArt.htm

http://www.totalityofbeing.com/FramelessPages/Articles/WhatAreSystemicEnzymes.htm

i'm a fan of systemic enzymes (preferred brand is Exclzyme)....tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04254045589639201707noreply@blogger.com
